Set in 1958, this satire on American society, features Conrad Birdie, an “Elvis-like” pop star that is drafted into the Army much to the chagrin of his comical agent Albert Peterson. To save his business, Albert plans a farewell performance for Birdie on the Ed Sullivan Show and runs a contest where one lucky girl will receive “one last kiss” from Birdie. This unnerves the parents and excites the teens of Sweet Apple, Ohio where Kim MacAfee, the lucky contest winner is from.

The original Broadway production was a Tony

Award-winning success treating audiences with the songs, "Put On a Happy

Face," "Kids" and the spirited number, "A Lot of Livin’ to

Do." An full orchestra including twenty Hopkinton High School students

will provide accompaniment for the show.
