About The Show:
Performance dates are November 6, 7, 8, 13 & 14What happens when you cross the mystery of Agatha Christie with the biting wit of Noël Coward? You get a weekend that’s to die for.
Following a disastrous opening night, playwright Edward Bennett and his actress wife Sorel retreat to their country estate for some peace and quiet. Instead, they get a houseful of uninvited guests: a radical socialist, an eccentric dancer, a stiff politician, and a mysterious woman – each with a long-held secret. When a body is found, the martinis stop flowing and the finger-pointing begins. With no police in sight, it’s up to the cynical maid—who’s read a few too many detective novels—to untangle a web of lies and lyrics. We are looking for a high-energy ensemble to bring this 1930s "mash-up" farce to life. If you have a knack for sophisticated banter and physical comedy, we want to see you at auditions!

"Murder is easy. Drama is hard."

Join us for a stylish, fast-paced comedy where the only thing sharper than the dialogue is the kitchen knife.

Washington Street Players is seeking actors for the following roles:
Edward Bennett: A suave, urban playwright. He is vain, dramatic, and prone to histrionics. Edward is sophisticated but easily ruffled when things don't go his way. He treats life like one of his own plays.

Sorel Bennett
: Edward’s wife and a celebrated stage actress. She is glamorous, temperamental, and constantly "on." Sorel is prone to grand entrances and exits, often using her charm—or her sharp tongue—to manipulate those around her.

Bridgit: The Irish maid. She is the backbone of the house and the only one who seems to possess any common sense. She is blunt, cynical, and has zero patience for the theatrics of her employers.

Jack
: The charming and handsome chauffeur. He is youthful, energetic, and perhaps a bit too clever for his own good. He has a mysterious side and an eye for the ladies.

Walter Pearce: A stiff, conservative politician. He represents the "old guard" of British society—boring, moralistic, and easily offended by the Bennetts' bohemian lifestyle.

Eric Spangle: A radical, fiery socialist. He is young, intense, and deeply committed to his political ideals. He views the wealthy elite with disdain, making him a natural foil for the other guests.

Victoria Van Roth: An avant-garde bohemian dancer. She is eccentric, ethereal, and speaks in high-minded, artistic metaphors. She brings an air of modern, abstract weirdness to the weekend.

Alice
: A shy, sweet, and somewhat mysterious visitor who arrives unexpectedly. She appears innocent and fragile, but in a house full of actors and radicals, appearances are rarely what they seem.
