Calling All Hopkinton Teens Who Want To Make A Difference

Information session on March 15 for New Hopkinton Youth in Philanthropy Program.

Calling all high school students who are interested in making an impact in their community! The Foundation for MetroWest and the Hopkinton Country Club Charitable Foundation are delighted to announce a new partnership and the launch of Youth in Philanthropy at the Hopkinton Country Club Charitable Foundation starting in the fall of 2016.

We welcome youth and their parents to join us for an Information Session on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at the Hopkinton High School’s Library to learn more about Youth in Philanthropy. This event is free to attend, but we request that you please RSVP online at: http://bit.ly/YIPinfosession. This program is open to students in grades 9-12 who live or learn in Hopkinton or those who are members of the Hopkinton Country Club.

More than an extracurricular activity, Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) is a rich, skills-based curriculum where teens broaden their horizons and gain a deeper understanding of their communities, local needs, and their own strengths and capacities as civic leaders. They learn how to change the world, starting here at home in MetroWest.

A recent YIP participant said, “Youth in Philanthropy is a truly amazing program. It gave me a new perspective on my community and how I can help.”

Since launching in 1997, the Foundation for MetroWest’s Youth in Philanthropy program has educated over 1,100 students who have granted more than $1 million to 140 MetroWest youth development organizations. The Foundation for MetroWest is proud to be running one of the largest youth philanthropy education programs in the country.
