Congressman James McGovern and State Sen. Karen Spilka were in attendance at the event that Chamber President Bonnie Biocchi indicated would provide new Chamber members a “wonderful opportunity to engage and make connections within our business community.”
Despite the mid-90s heat, over 150 people attended, including Holliston’s newly-seated Selectmen, Jay Leary and Kevin Conley. The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit business advocacy, community and economic development association committed to the support of its members’ growth and success.

During the event, Biocchi introduced new chamber members DPS Biometrics of Framingham, Spyglass Printing of Ashland and 1st Stop Program Management of Shrewsbury.
“When a new business joins the Chamber we try to get them connected right away. I want to thank Colantonio, Inc for providing such a wonderful opportunity for our new businesses to engage and make connections within our business community.” said Biocchi.
Colantonio is also the chair of the Chamber’s Education Foundation Golf Tournament scheduled for September 12 at the Framingham Country Club.
Biocchi also announced that Staples had become a Gold Sponsor of Chamber.
“We are delighted that Staples, a long-time supporter of the MetroWest Chamber, has chosen to become a Gold Sponsor," said Donna Kelleher, of Next Generation Children’s Centers and chair of the Chamber board. "We are very fortunate that Staples is headquartered in our region and we will continue to work hard to advocate for them”
Also on hand for the occasion were 16 members of the Board of Directors and five former Chairs.
“It says something about an organization when there is this level of support from the Board. The entire membership benefits from this type of interaction,” said new member Erik Arthur from Waltham-based Insperity.
The Chamber’s next big event will be on June 28 at the Sheraton when 13 BNI Chapters, and the Marlborough and MetroWest Chambers get together for the BNI Alliance MegaMixer. The event runs from 5-7:30 pm and will offer open and structured networking. One lucky winner will take home two tickets to the Red Sox donated by Freedom Printing in Ashland.
