Community Acupuncture Comes to Milford

Community Acupuncture clinic opens in Milford, MA

October 23, 2014

Milford, MA –MetroWest Community Acupuncture (MWCA) has moved from neighboring Medway to a new location at 229 E. Main St (route 16) in Milford. At a community style acupuncture clinic, patients rest in recliners in a shared space. Small, thin needles are placed in the patient’s lower legs, lower arms and head in order to treat conditions anywhere in the body. A sliding fee scale allows more patients, regardless of income or insurance, to receive enough treatments to experience relief from chronic and acute stress and pain, as well as improvement in symptoms and root causes of illness and injury.

There are several advantages to treating patients in a group setting. Many people find it comforting to be with others. Family members and friends may be treated together. Another advantage is the price. Patients choose what they would like to pay within a range of $15 - $40 per treatment. The purpose of the sliding scale fee structure is to help make acupuncture affordable for as many people as possible.

Currently, the MWCA clinic employs two front desk staff and three acupuncturists. All of the acupuncturists have a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine and are fully licensed by the State of Massachusetts.

MetroWest Community Acupuncture is owned and run by Ashland Community Acupuncture, LLC (ACA), who provides community acupuncture in neighboring Ashland, MA. ACA acquired MetroWest Community Acupuncture (formerly called Metrowest Whole Health) in February of 2014 when the previous owner moved out of state. Both clinics are members of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA). POCA is a multi-national cooperative whose mission is to provide accessible and affordable acupuncture.
