Demons Squirt 2’s Win Hockey Championship
Comprised of Hopkinton, Holliston and Ashland boys and girls, Demons beat No. 1 and 2 teams for league championship.

The Demons Youth Hockey Squirt 2 team, led by Coach Dave Downey, won their league championship Wednesday night with a 4-0 victory over the Franklin Flyers at North Star Youth Forum in Westborough.
The Demons finished their regular season in third place out of the 13-team Squirt 2 Upper Division playing in the North Star Youth League.
The Demons program is made up of boys and girls from Holliston, Hopkinton and Ashland.

In the double-elimination tournament, the Demons started off with a 4-3 overtime loss.
They then rattled off six consecutive victories, including the final two games against the No. 2 team in the division, Assabet. Ultimately the Demons beat beat the No. 1 ranked team, Franklin, in the final game. The Demons six wins included five shutouts by goalie Jay Frandina of Hopkinton.

Hopkinton residents Cameron Allen, Caraline Carrazza, Liam Farrell, Matthew Fliegauf, Frandina, Thomas Lincoln, William Pawela, Jacob Silliman and Daniel Proudman were part of the championship season. The Demons assistant coaches were David Frandina, Ted Allen and Mark Pawela.
The team also includes Holliston residents James Crews, Chris Foster, James Franco, Grace Roberto, Robbie Saponaro, Elizabeth Crews (assistant coach) and Northbridge resident Bryce Downey.
