Sam Tyler and Barbara Gardner of Talk of the Town are hosting a candidates' forum on Monday evening, April 25 from 7:30 to 9 PM in the Holliston High School Library. It will be taped to be shown on cable. The public is invited to attend and submit questions. As there are six contested races the forum will be devoted just to the Selectmen and Town Clerk positions, to allow enough time for adequate discussion and debate. The other three contested races for Planning Board, Board of Health and Housing Authority are scheduled for a regular one hour show to be taped in the cable studio on Sunday, May 1 at 6 PM. The tenative plan is to spend the first fifty minutes on the two Selectmen's races, starting with the two candidates for the three-year term, followed by the three candidates for the one-year term. The second forty minutes will focus on the five candidates for the Town Clerk's position. Barbara will recuse herself from that part of the forum as she is committed to a particular candidate so her involvement would not be appropriate. Each of the candidates will begin with a two-minute opening statement to introduce themselves, explain why they are running and what they bring to the position. Each will present a 1-minute closing statement. There will be prepared questions that will be answered alternately.
