Dancing Arts Center Spring Concert

The Dancing Arts Center celebrates spring with a series of performances from May 2 to May 4 that exemplifies all that its students have achieved this year.

The first half of this annual concert involves students performing ballet and modern dance demonstrations choreographed by Dancing Arts Center Director, Karyn Edison, Ballet Instructors Patrick Notaro and Gregg Saulnier, Modern Dance Instructors Yolanda Daelemans, Karen Krolak, and Anne Johnson, and this year’s senior student choreographer, Lynette Winshman.

“This concert is a wonderful way for all of our students and teachers to collaborate on their emerging artistic and technical skills and create something magnificent for audiences to enjoy,” says DAC Director Karyn Edison. “It is an eclectic showcase of what the Dancing Arts Center and the Dancing Arts Academy is all about, and a great way to add to our series of performances throughout the year.”

After the department demonstrations where all students of one genre present sequences of classwork, performers will delight audiences with premiere and original contemporary works along with select variations from the ballet, La Bayadere.

Holliston residents performing include: Lizzie Aldrich, Leilani Burroughs, Jenna Calabrese, Emily Chiang, Isabella D’Amato, Cassandra Doyle, Kaylee Fenton, Deirdre Flynn, Holly Foster, Alisa Grishechkina, Lindsey Haberman, Elizabeth Kantrowitz, Sara Knapp, Kylie Koshivaki, Julia Luo, Allison McGrath, Gabriella Murgo, Kaelyn O’Donnell, Sadie Plotkin, Chloe Sampas, Mikaela Savage, Gabrielle Schmid, and Abigail Stevens.

Hopkinton residents Neha Bhambhani, Maria Groussis, Nicole Groussis, Zoë Montalto, and Denise Randall will also perform. Lynette Winshman, also from Hopkinton, will choreograph the modern piece, “Possessed.”

The spring concerts will be held at the Dancing Arts Center theater (9 Whitney Street, Holliston, Mass.) on May 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. and May 4 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Those purchasing before April 30 can save $2 off each ticket.  Reduced rates are offered for children and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at www.dancingartscenter.com/product.php?product=140.
