Some ideas for documents for shredding are old tax returns, bank statements, credit reports, receipts, and credit card offers.
Spring is often a time for residents to clear out unwanted or obsolete items, and this event has several ways to get it accomplished. In addition to the shredding, recycling of electronics and reuse of clothing, shoes, or toys will also be on hand.
Gallo Moving and C.O.W.S. (Containers on Wheels) has taken on the role of recycling electronics for the community. They will be there with their C.O.W. to haul away televisions, monitors, printers, phones, etc. They will be recycling these electronics free of charge.
PlanetAid, a local Holliston business, will be on hand to collect residents’ bags of clothing, shoes, toys, and books. Spend a few hours going thru that closet that is overflowing, and bring it down for them to put it into the hands of needy people as well as raising money for great programs around the globe.
Ed and Doriane Daniels, Holliston residents and Realtors with Realty Executives, are hosting this event. A full detailing of what items people should bring to the event can be found on their website, www.MAhome.com.
All participants in the event will be entered to win raffle prizes. Local sponsors such as Pepperoncini’s Grill, Edward Moloney of GMH Mortgage, Henry Studio, Mayo Septic Services and Newfound Farm are offering some great giveaways, such as gift certificates, and a personal shredder.
Ahronian Landscaping will be handing out seedlings so that guests can plant a tree for Earth Day. Get advice from town Tree Warden Mark Ahronian and join the international Earth Day encouragement to plant a tree. Another great way to spend Earth Day!
While this event is free, donations would be appreciated but not required. The local organization being supported, Friends of the Holliston Trails, will be there to talk about recent successes in the goal to bring a “rail trail” thru Holliston. Come support this great organization of volunteers who are bringing a valuable community asset to Holliston.
