In this workshop we will explore the concept of the core of the body and what it means to move from the core. Tightness in the core caused by repetitive movements and habituation leads to postural misalignment and pain in the extremities of the body. We will learn how to move more freely and discover that every movement can and should be a full body movement.About Somatics: Somatics is a type of neuromuscular retraining which allows you to relearn natural, efficient movement patterns, regain flexibility and range of motion, and prevent and recover from injuries. Workshops consist of slow, gentle, relaxing movements suitable for all ages and fitness levels. You will learn exercises that you can do at home in as little as 5 minutes a day to maintain flexibility, improve coordination, warm up and cool down from workouts, and prevent injuries.
