Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 23

There's exactly a week of summer vacation left for Holliston students and the ConCom will hold a hearing on a proposed Bullard St. solar project.

1. The Conservation Commission will open a hearing into the proposed at 8 p.m. in Room 014 of Town Hall. 

2. Freshman orientation takes place at starting at 9:30. 

3. School begins for all students in exactly one week, on Aug. 30. If you don’t have all your school supplies, local merchants are trying to help out. is offering complete bags with all the required items for all middle school students.

 4. There’s still time to nominate someone as Holliston’s Citizen of the Year. Forms are around town and nominations close on Sept. 2. 

5. The clear Fall-like weather is expected to continue for at least another day, with Weather.com predicting a high of 78 degrees and a zero percent chance of rain.
