Bend and stretch and reach for the stars. If you do, you may just end up celebrating your ten year anniversary as the owner of a yoga studio.

Such was the reality of Kristine Maselli, the Owner of . Ten years ago Maselli was an IT consultant with an eye for technology and the future.

For those of you who think yoga is all about turning yourself into a pretzel and fear stepping in to a studio, Maselli would like you to change your thinking.

"We offer lots of workshops and classes for beginners," Maselli said. "We aren't all pretzels. I highly recommend that everyone try basic yoga. Some people start there and use it as a stepping stone, others stay in that class for ten years. Yoga is about the mind as well as the body and it's good for everyone to experience the basics."

The studio offers classes in many different disciplines for all different ages as well as workshops.

They will be celebrating their anniversary with a birthday party in a member's home on September 3. Maselli will also offer a free class on that day. There will also be games, prizes and a raffle. Anyone is welcome to attend, but she ask that you RSVP by September 1 to info@absoluteyoga to let them know you are coming.

"On the day of our anniversary we will offer a free strength and flexibility class at 9 a.m.," Maselli said. "This is not a beginner's class. You should have a yoga practice already in place."

When Maselli first opened her studio, she regularly taught children; something she still feels strongly about.

"We often see a whole family," Maselli said. "I remember a little girl who became an adult, she's now 21, stopping me and telling me how much she enjoyed my class. It was such a gift to be remembered."

For many is their home away from home.

"This is a safe place," Maselli said. "We have been through much of life with our clients - the good and the bad - and I feel we are all better mothers, friends, sisters, etc... when we do something to fill our soul. I think we offer that safe haven."

What does Maselli hope the next ten years will bring?

"I hope to see many of the same faces and some new ones as well," she said. " I want folks to feel comfortable here. I invite all ages to participate, and I hope yoga becomes a lifelong practice. It's all about the mind/body connection, and I love it when people get that.
