Girl Scouts Coordinate Fundraiser During 'Caroling on the Common'

This weekend, join your neighbors in song for the annual Caroling on the Common event from 4-5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, on Hopkinton Town Common.

Here are the troops fundraising on the common:

• Cadette Troop 72977 will be fundraising
• Junior Troop 65040 will be fundraising for Serenity House
• Junior Troop 75348 will be selling dog treats and pet toys to support its work towards a Bronze award for helping animals
• A Cadette from Troop 72954 will be collecting gently-used children’s books for ER waiting rooms and shelters to support her work toward a Silver award
• Junior Troop 68067 will be collecting children’s pjs, sizes 0-6, for Horizons for Homeless Children

For this event, Girl Scouts and area families will be singing songs that celebrate wintery fun and our community members’ wintertime religious and cultural celebrations, said the announcement.

A community member will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots and Hopkinton Parks and Recreation will be providing hot chocolate and cookies. The event also includes the town tree lighting (thanks to the Boy Scouts for the tree and the Girl Scouts for the lights and ornaments) and a visit from Santa!
