Hillers Captain Scores an Education at UMass Lowell
Girls' varsity basketball standout, Lindsay Doucette will continue her studies and basketball career with a scholarship to U Mass Lowell.

Hopkinton Patch: The team had a game this past week, how did you do?
Lindsey Doucette: Our last game was this past Wednesday against Bellingham and we won 69-46. I scored 24 points and had 7-steals.

The girls' basketball team Played Millis on Friday, Jan 6. They won that game 76-44. Their record is now 5-1.
Patch: When did you start playing basketball?
Doucette: I think that I started playing in 4th grade in Hopkinton. I have an older brother that plays and we started playing hoops together in the backyard.
Patch: Who has been most influential in your career?
Doucette: My father has been the most influential. He has always helped me with my practices and gives me advice on what to do on and off the court. He is helping me with colleges and is very supportive.
Patch: What is your most memorable moment?
Doucette: I would have to say, last year, surrounded by my family and friends. It was really exciting.
Patch: How do you manage academics and sports?
Doucette: I think that playing sports forces you to become more organized with your time. You don't have time to procrastinate so the work get's done before or after practice.
Patch: What advice do you have for younger athletes?
Doucette: Work hard and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Have fun and learn from your mistakes.
Patch: What are your personal goals for this season?
Doucette: I have goals for scoring and rebounding for each game. I know that I have to work harder and try to do what I can to achieve these goals.
Patch: How do you handle the pressure?
Doucette: I try not to let it get to me. I try to stay focused on each and every game.
Patch: What are your plans for next year?
Doucette: I will be attending U Mass Lowell next year and playing basketball.
