Local Students Earn Degrees from the University of Vermont

Some 2,975 students were awarded a variety of degrees -- undergraduate, graduate and M.D. -- during the University of Vermont’s 214th commencement ceremonies on May 17, announced the school. Among degree recipients were students from 42 states and 85 international students from 16 countries.

A list of local students and the degree earned by each follows:

Ashley Hoyt, of Hopkinton, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the College of Arts & Sciences

Abigail Parker, of Holliston, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Communication from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences

Lila Gilbreath, of Hopkinton, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education Math from the College of Arts & Sciences

Lila Gilbreath, of Hopkinton, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Secondary Education Math from the College of Education & Social Services

John Davis, of Hopkinton, MA, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable Landscape Horticulture from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences

Benjamin Sherr, of Holliston, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences

Emily Johnson, of Hopkinton, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from the College of Education & Social Services
