Holliston Artist To Take Part In Fountain Street Fine Art Exhibit

Jeff Adams' photograph, "Cables & Tower" was selected to be part of "Industrial Strength," Fountain Street Fine Art's second open juried show of 2011.

The following is a press release issued last week by Fountain Street Fine Art:

Holliston artist Jeff Adams will exhibit his photograph, "Cables & Tower," as part of "Industrial Strength," Fountain Street Fine Art’s 2011 summer exhibit and second open juried show this year.

The new gallery, located in a century-old factory in downtown Framingham, is a large, well-lit space that holds true to the gritty charm of its 19th Century manufacturing roots, hence the theme Industrial Strength.

Adams’ piece was among 65 chosen from over 230 works of art submitted by artists from throughout southern New England by juror Howard Yezerski. Yezerski runs Howard Yezerski Gallery, a leading contemporary art gallery in Boston and a vital member of the Boston art community since the 1980s.

Much of the work chosen by Yezerski has a distinctly rugged intensity that directly relates to the theme of the show. A large number of pieces are abstract in nature, although many figurative works are also included. Painting, drawing, mixed media, photography and sculpture are all represented in the show.

About Fountain Street Fine Art:  In January 2011, Cheryl Clinton, a painter and mixed media artist, and photographer Marie Craig teamed up to open Fountain Street Fine Art, a large, welcoming gallery on the ground floor of the century-old factory in Framingham where both have studios.

An artist-run membership-based gallery, Fountain Street Fine Art exhibits contemporary work by emerging and mid-career artists that is skillfully executed, exciting and new, with a strong regional focus. The gallery also periodically hosts gallery talks, workshops and film screenings of interest to artists and collectors.
