Holliston Barn Fire Claims Lives Of 40+ Animals
The fire tore through a barn on Concord Street Sunday morning.

HOLLISTON, MA – Dozens of animals were killed in a barn fire in Holliston over the weekend. Authorities said there were about 60 animals in the barn on Concord Street when it caught fire around 6 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the MetroWest Daily News.
Six chickens, four ducks and three pigs escaped or were rescued, according to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. No people were injured.
A neighbor who called 911 told the Boston Herald she awoke Sunday morning to the "blood-curdling" screams of animals trapped in pens. The animals are owned by Rebecca Brodie of Brodie Farms in Holliston, who leased the barn, the Herald reported.

Multiple fire crews responded to the fire, which was brought under control within an hour. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
