Holliston Police Log: Stolen Jewelry, Police Donation Fraud

Monday, Oct. 1

2:09 a.m.: An officer checked the grounds at Pinecrest Golf Club, specifically the outdoor vending machines.

9:55 a.m.: An officer assisted the Highway Department while they changed the banner on Washington Street.

1:31 p.m.: An officer spoke with Toll Brothers representatives on Praying Indian way to see if they were having any problems with theft or vandalism. No problems were reported.

2:24 p.m.: A resident reported a past larceny from Balancing Rock Road.

4:06 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash at Village Plaza. One person was transported to the hospital and both vehicles were towed.

5:20 p.m.: A 911 caller from Shaw Farm Road reported a distressed female that rang the doorbell and requested to use a telephone and the bathroom. An officer responded but the female was gone.

6:17 p.m.: A resident reported receiving a phone call asking for donations for the police department. When the resident asked which police department the caller hung up.

8:18 p.m.: The same resident of Shaw Farm Road who called about the distressed woman earlier reported that they returned home and found that jewelry had been missing. It is unclear if the two incidents are related.

9:14 p.m.: A caller from Heritage Road reported that they heard a woman screaming. Officers responded and the area was quiet.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

7:09 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Baker Street and gave the driver a citation for operating an unregistered vehicle. The driver was given a ride to the station to arrange transport and the vehicle was towed.

8:15 a.m.: A resident of Dodd Drive reported a past motor vehicle break-in.

10:07 a.m.: A cell phone caller reported an erratic driver on Central Street. Officers responded and spoke to the driver who was a lost elderly woman.

12:34 p.m.: A resident of Norfolk Lane went in to the Holliston Police Department to report a past break-in.

10:35 p.m.: A caller from Hollis Street reported that a stranger had approached their door saying they had ran out of gas. An officer stood by until help arrived. The vehicle was still unable to start and was left in the High School parking lot overnight.

10:50 p.m.: A caller from Andrew Lane reported that they heard a male screaming in the area. Officers responded and the male returned to his home. An officer contacted the male's landlord about the incident.
