Holliston Resident Raises Awareness for Alzheimer's

Kathleen Prefontaine Joins the Southeastern Massachusetts Walk to End Alzheimer's

Holliston resident Kathleen Prefontaine will participate in the Southeastern Massachusetts Walk to End Alzheimer’s© on Sunday, September 28 at Fort Taber, 950 Rodney French Boulevard, New Bedford.

Prefontaine joined the walk as the captain of the Peggy’s Pride team, named in honor of her mother Peggy Humphrey. The team walks in memory of her mother and in support of the other members of Prefontaine’s family who are living with the disease.

“I want to walk to do whatever small part I can to raise awareness,” said Prefontaine. “I want to contribute in any way I can to help find a cure.”

“We have an extraordinary challenge ahead as we tackle Alzheimer’s disease,” said Jim Wessler, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “Kathleen’s commitment is making a difference in this battle. Our ultimate goal is a world without Alzheimer’s. Thanks to Kathleen, we are surely, steadily taking steps in that direction.”
