Holliston Senior Graduates from Dancing Arts Center

Danielle Kerrigan is one of three graduating seniors who graduated from the Dancing Arts Center (DAC) on May 14.

Holliston resident Danielle Kerrigan is one of three graduating seniors to whom the (DAC) has bid farewell this spring.

Suzanne Grenier of Sherborn and of Upton join Kerrigan as the DAC's graduates, who were honored at the Graduation and Spring Dance Concert on May 14 at Massachusetts Bay Community College’s McKenzie Theater. All three dancers participate annually in the DAC’s Holiday and Spring concerts and are members of the Dancing Arts Ensemble, which performs at local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and regional festivals.

At the beginning of this past school-year, the seniors selected a younger dancer(s) to support them through their last year. The graduating senior and her "little sibling(s)" performed a dance piece choreographed by the senior to open the Graduation and Spring Dance Concert. Each piece reflected the individual style of the seniors and their choreographic, technical, artistic, and performing skills gained through her years at the DAC.

Kerrigan is graduating from , where she is a member of the National Honor Society and the Holliston High School Band. Kerrigan has been a student at the DAC since she was four years old and takes classes six days a week in ballet, modern and jazz.

Kerrigan was honored by the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce for graduating in the top 10 percent of her class. She will be attending the Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she will study Biology and French.

Grenier is graduating from Dover-Sherborn High School. She has loved dancing since she was a little girl and began taking dance classes 14 years ago. Grenier has spent the last four years dancing at the DAC, where she takes classes in Ballet and Modern.

Grenier plans to study at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she will major in Dance and English. The Dance Department at UMass commended Grenier, saying her audition revealed her love of dancing, ability to adapt to new movement techniques and prior training.

Laquidara is graduating from Nipmuc Regional High School. For the past six years, she has been a student at the DAC, where she takes classes six days a week in ballet, modern, jazz, and character. Laquidara was recently recognized as a 2010-2011 Discus Award winner for her achievements in the areas of Arts, Community Service, and Academics.

She will be attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she will double major in Dance and Psychology.
