Hopkinton Democrats are our Pick of the Week
A look at what's hot on facebook this week.

Social Media and Hopkinton Patch are like peanut butter and jelly; we go together. Each week we take a look back at the week and how folks used social media to communicate. We use it regularly as a complement to our jobs, and a way to get word out quickly. Each week we recognize one local site as our social media page of the week; a rare honor, indeed! If you are interested in being considered for this coveted title, email Faith594@msn.com or call 508-330-0209 and tell us what makes you worthy.
Highlights of the Week
We currently have 212 likes on Facebook; a proud feat. Our next goal is 300, and we'd love to see that number by the end of the year. Our Twitter handle is @HopkintonPatch. Follow us and we'll follow you - we're all about spreading the love.

Ah, it's that time. Time to announce the weekly winner of this coveted title. With folks all over town clamoring for this honor, we had to base our decision on the "pop" of the page, the number of likes and the amount of information available on the wall. We also take into account personal emails sent to this writer. This week's social media page of the week came to us through a loyal reader, proof that if you give us a holler we'll happily mention you in this space. Now, without further ado, this week's winner is, drum roll, please...The Hopkinton Democrats. With election season approaching, they are hoping to increase their following. Currently they have 15 followers and they are discussing Barney Frank's decision not to run on their wall. Join them, and learn what they believe in and hope for in the 2012 election.
Your Town on Social Media
Another site that's worth mentioning also came to us through a loyal reader. They are the Hopkinton Polyarts Society. With 174 folowers and a cool video about Constance Charters at the Polyarts Festival, this page deserves a second glance. Check them out.
With the holiday season in full swing our Facebook page has become a place for us to ask you , dear readers, to share with us. We want to see your holiday outfits, hear about what's on your Christmas lists, and most importantly we want you to deck your homes and win $100,000 from Patch for your local schools. Truly, a win/win for all. Read more about the contest here.
We also reminded you that Dec. 6 was the last day for the surveys to be submitted and then shared with you that the highest number of residents ever participated in taking the survey; a great fact for the school committee.
We also want you to know that you can enter your own events and announcements; it's really very easy. Feeling uncomfortable doing it yourself ? Zap an email to Faith594@msn.com and we'll walk you through the process.
