Hopkinton High School Swimmers & Divers Shine in Post-Season Meets

Hillers Swimming & Diving Team remains strong, sets a few school records at state meet

The Hopkinton High School Hillers boys swimming and diving team finished 10th out of 56 teams at the state meet Saturday, Feb. 19.

“With only five boys entered in the meet, this is a great accomplishment,” said head coach Bryan King.

Placing in the meet were Kevin Lagasse, John Lagasse and Paul Lagasse, while the medley-relay placed 7th.  Patrick Reimonn had his best 500-yard freestyle of the year, dropping almost three seconds.

On the diving board, Julianna Tordella secured 13th place, the highest for any Hopkinton girl diver in a state meet (the previous highest being  20th and 21st).

The girls’ 400 free relay team of Kara Cooney, Jackie Scholfield, Madeline Lipkin and Rachel Muench dropped even more time from their amazing 4:14 swim at sectionals the week before to finish with a 4:05.
