Hopkinton Officials Warn About Mistake On Local Census

Officials said the census that went out may have been printed without residents under the age of 17.

HOPKINTON, MA — Hopkinton officials are cautioning residents to take a close look at the local census' that just went out — some may have been printed without residents under the age of 17. Hopkinton's town clerk made the announcement on Thursday.

Town Clerk Connor Degan said the residents who were accidentally excluded from the census, those under 17, likely not been removed from the town's internal system. However, if you notice that your minors are not listed, Degan suggested residents add them in and send the census out as usual. If you forget to add them in and they are already in the town's system then they will not be removed.

The town is still working to identify the cause of the issue but assured residents it will not have an effect on the resident status of minors in the household.
