Hopkinton Police Dog Sniffs Out Domestic Assault Suspect

The man was hiding in a cave when he gave himself up after hearing the police dog.

HOPKINTON, MA — Hopkinton K9 officer Titan is being called the "Tracking Machine" after leading police to two different suspects this week. Titan sniffed out a domestic assault suspect on Monday and an intoxicated woman on Friday.

On Monday, police were looking for a man accused of domestic assault ran from his home into the woods. Titan was able to track down the man a half mile away, hiding in a rock cave. Police said the an quickly gave himself up once he heard Titan waiting for him.

On Friday, Titan and the Hopkinton police helped a neighboring department find an intoxicated woman who ran from her home. Following her scent, Titan found her in the woods, passed out. Police said the woman was barefoot, wearing only a t-shirt in 15 degree temperatures. Thanks to Titan's nose, the woman was found and safely taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
