Hopkinton Police Log: Two OUI Arrests, Underage Drinking Party Busted

Monday, July 2
6:07 a.m.: A motorist reported a tree limb blocking part of the roadway on Front Street. Police called the for a chainsaw.
8:33 a.m.: A caller reported she was just involved in a crash on South Street. Police responded. One of the operators had a Chinese license in hand; no other information was given.

2:35 p.m.: A caller reported her son advised her that someone was trying to get in her house on East Main Street, earlier in the day. Police took a report.
5:43 p.m.: Peter N. Taveira, 42, of 19 Glen Ln., Randolph, was arrested on 495 and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and having no inspection sticker.

9:05 p.m.: Residents complained of fireworks in the Spring Street neighborhood.
11:54 p.m.: A caller reported loud music coming from a house on Hayden Rowe Street. Police responded and found an underage drinking party. Parents were contacted.
Tuesday, July 3
12:57 a.m.: A caller reported two kids on bikes riding on the wrong side of East Main Street, heading toward the center.
1:44 a.m.: A caller reported that the operator of a 4-door vehicle smashed his mailbox on Greystone Lane. Police determined a mailbox was also taken; it was located by Granite Street. Milford police were notified.
5:40 a.m.: A caller from North Mill Street reported his dog was attacked by one of the bloodhounds in the area.
2:36 p.m.: A caller reported a strange animal in her tree on Pleasant Street. Animal Control was called.
9:30 p.m.: A caller reported a large amount of fireworks going off on Downey Street. Police checked and reported fireworks were coming from barges on the lake.
11:01 p.m.: An Amherst Road resident reported fireworks coming from another house on the street. Police checked the area; all was quiet.
Wednesday, July 4
4:31 a.m.: There was a crash with personal injury on Hayden Rowe Street near the Milford town line. One occupant had an eye injury. Two people were taken to Milford Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
6:25 a.m.: A caller reported three men were looking in windows at his address on East Main Street. Hopkinton sought assistance from Ashland Police; no one was found.
12:48 p.m.: A caller reported several items stolen from his garage on East Main Street. Police responded and took a report.
1:12 p.m.: Police were informed by state park personnel that there may be an altercation at the soccer field on Cedar Street. Police checked; all was OK.
1:23 a.m.: William H. Camastro, 50, of 12 Hidden Brick Rd., Hopkinton, was arrested on Chestnut Street and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, fourth offense, and a marked lanes violation.
2:25 p.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported he saw three parties in the woods behind his house and they may have been involved in a previous larceny. Police responded and spoke with the party.
3:45 p.m.: A person went into the and reported a sink hole from recent road construction on Front Street. Police put up a traffic cone.
4:46 p.m.: A caller reported a possible broken window on Hayden Rowe Street.
6:20 p.m.: Police stopped a car on Lumber Street. Rodney R. Moreira, 49, of 17 Weld St., Apt. 28, Framingham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and failing to keep right on a hill/obstructed view.
9:20 p.m.: A caller reported fireworks going off in the area of Jamie Lane.
9:50 p.m.: A caller reported a disabled motor vehicle on 495 and the driver was walking on the side of the highway. State Police assisted.
11:27 p.m.: A caller reported two teenagers of a group of five pounded on the glass of his Main Street business; they were last seen in the area of 25 Main St. The other three were walking up Church Street. Police responded and searched, with negative results.
