Hopkinton's Evangeline Payson Has Died at 91
The former resident had lived at Holy Trinity Nursing Home in Worcester for the past 4 years.
Evangeline (Vellios) Payson, 91, died on September 25. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, she was married to the late Hollis Payson for 50 years until his death in 1994. The couple met at Washington University in St. Louis, which she attended after Harris Teachers College.
She is survived by 5 children, 3 grandhildren and 1 great-grandchild, as well as a large extended family spread throughout the country.
A private funeral service with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Hopkinton will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home. Contributions in Mrs. Payson’s memory may be made to the Hopkinton Public Library, or to Friends of the Seniors, 28 Mayhew St. Hopkinton. Her family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Holy Trinty Nursing Home and Hospice Center for their care.
