IMAGE GALLERY: Bidding Farewell, Saying Thank You

Donald "Bud" Lawson, the town's first full-time Fire Chief, was laid to rest Saturday morning.

Led by the Holliston Fire Department Honor Guard, a funeral procession Saturday morning brought Donald "Bud" Rawson to his final resting place, but not before a town and the profession of firefighting that he served bid farewell.

Rawson, the devoted husband of Jean (Burroughs) Rawson for over 65 years, gave decades of service to Holliston. He served the Fire Department for 35 years, capping his career by serving as the town's first-ever full-time chief.

He was also a member of the American Legion Post #47 and the VFW Post #8507 for many years as well as a member of the Evergreen Lodge of Odd Fellows.
