Inside Edition: Getting Your Home Ready for Spring
Brick House Realty gives you some tips to get the INSIDE of your home ready for spring.
Last week, we talked about getting your house ready for spring on the outside. This week, as promised, here are some tips ensure you’ll start the season off right on the INSIDE of your home sweet home too.
- Wash interior windows in addition to the exterior. This gives the whole room a new “lift” similar to repainting a room.
- Replace and check furnace filter to not only save the environment, but to also save money from flying out of your pockets.
- Caulk your inside windows and repair any damage that may have been done by ice and snow during a brutal winter. This helps maintain your home’s desired heat/cold and prevent mold or other damage.
- Deep clean the carpets.
- Clean and store your humidifiers that you used this fall/winter.
- Dust your home and be sure to pay special attention to the fans in your home. Clean them well so once warmer weather arrives, you can use them to improve your home’s circulation.
- Test your air conditioning. You do not want to find it does not work when you turn it on for the first time and it is 105 degrees out. Remember that it is best to wait until the temperature is 65 to do this.
- Test all your smoke and fire alarms in the house to ensure they are working.
- Did you use the fireplace often this winter? Now is a great time to get this cleaned.
We hope these tips start you off on the right foot to great home maintenance for the entire year! Check back in next Monday to see what Holliston real estate news is percolating!
