Lt. Gov. Tim Murray was in Framingham Monday night as part of a new "summer conversation" tour across the state, in which he meets and talks with residents. In this video, he defends the state's stance on not signing onto the federal Secure Communities Program.

Under the federal program, which Boston piloted, each time a person is arrested his or her fingerprints are run through a federal database, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Those who are living in Massachusetts illegally would be detained and deportation proceedings would begin.

"This is a no-brainer and I think everybody would feel more secure if it were passed," Lamb told Murray.
Lamb told the Lt. Governor that she worries about sending her daughter to college in Framingham with gangs in town.
