New Position Means New Opportunities for Geri Holland

After nearly 16 years working as the operations assistant to the t for Hopkinton, Geri Holland is beginning a new part of her life journey.

Last week Holland accepted the position where she will work hand in hand with Ann Click.

“Ann and I have worked together before through the years, I’m looking forward to the new opportunity of working with her more now,” Holland said.

While working in the town manager’s office, Holland has had the opportunity to work with people from all different facets of town government. She has worked on selection boards to fill positions and attends the bi-weekly Board of Selectmen meetings.

“I’ve enjoyed working with the different boards and I’ve learned something from each new board member,” Holland said. “I’ll miss working with them as often as I do, but I know I will still see them.”

One of the tasks Holland has worked on each year is putting together the Annual Town Report, which gets distributed to every resident and includes the town meeting warrant items as well as a plethora of other information about the town.

“The report was always something I enjoyed, it’s a great opportunity to show what Hopkinton is all about and it really allows me to let my creative side out,” Holland said.

When she isn’t working in the Town Hall, Holland is a painter by hobby and said she looks forward to being able to spend more time in her studio.

Although no specific details have been worked out, Holland should be transferring to the Town Clerk’s Office by the end of the month. Her position as operations assistant to the town manager is currently being evaluated.
