Next Step on 40B Could Come Friday
Both selectmen and the ZBA have scheduled meetings that include executive sessions.

The next step in the town's long-running standoff with developer of a 40B condo project proposed for the Bird property 40B could become clear Friday.
The Board of Selectmen yesterday scheduled a meeting that starts at 7:30 a.m. Friday and that begins with an executive session. The Zoning Board of Appeals had already posted a meeting for the same time, also with an executive session on the agenda.
Selectmen are still scheduled to meet on Monday, Oct. 3 at the Holliston Senior Center.

The town learned two weeks ago that it had which seeks to build 200 condominiums--50 of them affordable according to state income standards--on property at the corner of Marshall and Prentice streets that is known to be contaminated from past uses.
The latest setback came more than three years after the ZBA voted to reject the project, known as Cedar View Estates, citing the contamination as well as concerns about wetlands protection. The Housing Appeals Committee overturned the town's denial since then two courts have backed that ruling.

GreenView Realty Principal J. Michael Norton has said he is ready to begin the process of obtaining final permits and paying the back taxes on the property in order to clear the way for construction to begin. He said he continues to believe the project will be one that benefits the town when it is completed.
