'Please Save This Abused Horse,' Asks Holliston Woman and Son
A woman from Holliston is working to help save the life of a horse that suffered abuse and neglect.

HOLLLISTON, MA — Maddie the horse comes from a situation of abuse and neglect. Currently at a rescue in Florida, Betsy Blumberg Maxwell and her son, Josh, raised funds to get her out of the situation and to a safe place.
“All of the money that gets donated to go fund me gets directly deposited to the farm rescue account,” said Maxwell. “In addition, Josh is cleaning car interiors. For $25, he is vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down all surfaces. That money also gets sent directly to the farm. Josh is becoming a bar mitzvah in September and needed to do community service for that. He really wanted to pick an issue he cared about and he loves horses. He initially wanted to bring a rescue horse here, but realized he couldn’t make the time or money commitment that would entail. He decided that he could still make a difference in a horse’s life even if it’s from afar. He hopes to one day meet Maddie.”
