Police Log: Assault and Battery Arrest, Underage Drinking Crash

Tuesday, March 6
1:18 a.m.: A 16 year-old was arrested after crashing into a telephone pole on Walcott Street. The minor was charged with underage possession, marked lanes violation, junior operator operating between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. leaving the scene of property damage, drunken-driving and false use of an RMV document.
3:54 a.m.: An officer checked on workers at Hayward Street.

6:34 a.m.: An officer assisted the town clerk with opening the polls at the Middle School.
8:07 a.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash on Main Street. An officer had the cars move to a safer location on Cedar Street during the paper exchange.

12:03 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious person going door to door on Main Street. An officer spoke to the person and informed them of the town’s bylaws.
12:44 p.m.: A caller from Main Street reported a larceny that happened over the weekend.
4:05 p.m.: Lee W. Baily, 42, of 50 Greenwood Rd. turned himself in to the station for his warrant of assault and battery. He was placed under arrest.
6:52 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a large dumpster fire on Wood Street. Officers responded with the to extinguish the flames.
6:56 p.m.: A person walked in to to report several youths acting strangely in a Cedar Street parking lot. One person was taken into protective custody.
