Police Log: Confused Elderly Man

Friday, March 30

12:45 a.m.: An officer checked a car parked on Hayward street.

7:45 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle passing her in a dangerous location on West Main Street. Officers attempted to contact the owner of the car, but their phone number was unlisted.

1:40 p.m.: An officer assisted a disabled motor vehicle operator on Grove Street.

7:13 p.m.: An officer checked an occupied vehicle on Hayward Street. The officer reported that the people in the car were having a discussion.

10:17 p.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Wood Street and noted that it was secure.

10:38 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Robbern Road. An officer responded and spoke to a person who was dropping off a resident.

Saturday, March 31

10:04 a.m.: A person reported an elderly man who stopped his vehicle on Wood Street then got out of his car and stood in the middle of the street while looking confused. An officer checked the area but could not locate the man.

11:37 a.m.: An officer checked the Fruit Street fields and everything seemed to be alright during the lacrosse games that were being held.

10:38 p.m.: A caller from Wild Road reported that someone rang her doorbell and her dogs were barking. An officer checked the area but did not find anything suspicious.

Sunday, April 1

6:34 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle on Hayden Rowe that appeared to have someone passed out inside. It appeared like the vehicle hit the fence, it also appeared to have been on driving on only rims for a distance.

10:27 a.m.: A caller reported that the stop sign at Clinton Street and Olive Street is missing. On officer checked the area and the notified Ashland PD because the intersection was in their town.

10:58 a.m.: A person called to report that there was a dog in his yard on West Elm Street. The caller said he had never seen the dog before, and it had a tag from 2010.  was notified, and they contacted the dog’s owner.

11:28 a.m.: The State Fire Marshall requested an officer respond to a Pleasant Street location to enforce a burn permit.

11:34 a.m.: A person walked in to to drop off a dog that was found wandering around on Pleasant Street. It was a small white dog with no tags. Animal Control was notified.

12:27 p.m.: A cell phone caller reported that there appeared to be a fire in the woods off route 495. The caller said it was about a mile north of West Main Street on the northbound side of the highway. said there was a burn permit for the 196 Saddle Hill Rd. area.
