Police Log: Dead Dog, Smokey Basement

Wednesday, April 11
2:12 a.m.: A checked a motor vehicle parked on Saddle Hill Road.
7:48 a.m.: A caller from West Main Street reported smoke in their basement. responded.

9:09 a.m.: A caller reported a tow truck was picking up a car on Main Street and was causing a hazard. An officer assisted and the truck got on its way.
9:20 a.m.: The Highway Department requested an officer to view damage at a traffic light o South Street. The damage appeared to be caused by a hit-and-run but was in fact hit by ’s landscapers who were going to work it out.

11:53 a.m.: An employee from a West Main Street business reported a drive-off that occurred last Friday.
4:56 p.m.: A 911 caller from Knoll Road reported two dogs running loose. The caller was advised of proper 911 procedures while an officer responded; the officer was unable to find the dogs.
6:44 p.m.: A caller from Wood Street reported that a dump truck operator may have been operating without a license. An officer responded but could not find the vehicle.
8:47 p.m.: A caller reported a hit or dead dog on the side of route 495. The state police were contacted and checked the area.
