Police Log: Hide and Seek, Suspicious Activity on Facebook

Friday, March 23
1:03 p.m.: A caller reported that what appeared to be debris in the road on West Main Street caused two cars to have flat tires. responded and checked the area but could not find the debris, the officer spoke to one of the vehicle operators who informed him AAA was on the way and that the other car left.
1:38 p.m.: A caller reported capturing suspicious activity of local youths on his Facebook page. The Massachusetts State Police said they would handle the incident, which took place on Wood Street.

2:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash on Loop Road. A tow truck was requested, as was an ambulance.
4:16 p.m.: An officer spoke with a motorist on South Street who had just purchased their vehicle and was in the process of changing the registration.

4:48 p.m.: a 911 caller reported a vehicle that hit a bicyclist on South Street. An officer responded with an ambulance but the bicyclist refused transportation. The driver was issued a ticket for failure to use caution around a turn.
6:00 p.m.: A caller reported a past road rage type incident on East Street.
7:00 p.m.: the police department received multiple 911 calls for a brush fire on Hayden Rowe Street. Officers responded and assisted .
7:32 p.m.: A caller reported two mopeds speeding around the . An officer observed that they were on the Ashland side of the park and notified the Ashland Police Department.
8:08 p.m.: A caller reported a fire alarm going of on Claflin Street in a building with it’s doors wide open but nobody home. An officer responded with the fire department.
Saturday March 24
12:09 a.m.: Police arrested Madeline Grace Schneider, 17, of 39 Glen Rd. and Jordan Kelley Doherty, 18, of 8 Jackson St., and charged them with possession of a liquor by a person under 21. Schneider was additionally charged with failure to drive in the right lane.
2:27 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street and issued a written warning for improperly functioning equipment.
2:00 p.m.: A person walked in to the station after finding a threatening drawing on her Jordan Road property.
4:33 p.m.: A caller reported a male driving a quad up and down Meserve Street without a helmet. An officer spoke to the male who said he would not do that anymore.
8:30 p.m.: A caller reported three unknown males standing in between their vehicles on Wood Street. Officers responded and spoke to the youths who said they were playing hide and seek games and were friends with the property owner.
8:42 p.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Wood Street.
9:35 p.m.: A caller reported an illegal dumping incident on Howe Street just over the town line in to Ashland. Ashland police were notified of the incident.
10:12 p.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Hayden Rowe Street.

1:35 a.m.: An officer stood by while a person changed their tire on route 495 near the pike.
4:31 a.m.: An officer checked a disabled motor vehicle on West Main Street. The vehicle was off the road and the operator was changing a tire.
10:51 a.m.: A caller reported that a vehicle passed her on West Main Street then “slammed on the breaks.” The vehicle was far enough ahead that there was not a crash.
12:48 p.m.: A caller from reported a group of kids lighting off fireworks on the beach on Lakeshore Drive. The caller was on a boat in the lake and also reported what appeared to be a bottle rocket. An officer responded and spoke to a group of kids who denied involvement but said there had been other kids at the beach as well.
1:11 p.m.: A caller reported an older looking dog walking in the road on Pond Street. The caller was concerned that the dog had been or would be struck by a car. An officer responded and reported that the dog was unharmed and belonged to a resident of the area.
6:47 p.m.: A caller from Church Street reported a blind dog running loose. was notified and responded.
8:38 p.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Wood Street and spoke with the operator.
