Police Log: Leap Day Snowstorm Part One

Wednesday, Feb. 29
1:26 a.m.: An officer checked a car parked on Hayward Street.
7:41 a.m.: A business owner on East Street reported that two bloodhounds from a neighboring street were loose. was contacted and got in touch with the dogs’ owner.

9:13 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle because it wasn’t registered properly. The vehicle was newly acquired and still within the seven-day grace period.
12:02 p.m.: An officer checked a vehicle parked at a vacant house on Hayden Rowe Street. The operator was a wetlands consultant surveying the area for a prospective buyer.

3:46 p.m.: Officers responded to a car crash on West Elm Street. No injuries were reported.
8:28 p.m.: A caller reported that a jeep with a plow on the front was doing doughnuts in the Middle School parking lot. When officers arrived the vehicle was gone.
9:09 p.m.: A caller reported that a motor vehicle had crashed into the guardrail on Ash Street. No injuries were reported but the car needed to be towed.
9:17 p.m.: A person reported that a vehicle was off the roadway on Cedar Street. No injuries were reported but the vehicle needed to be towed.
10:08 p.m.: A caller from South Street called to complain about the loud reverse alarms on the snowplows at a local business. An officer spoke with the security company for the business.
10:57 p.m.: The reported that the state police responded to a motor vehicle crash on West Main Street. Two responded as well.
