Police Log: Wind Storm, Spray Paint Vandalism

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Feb. 25

12:16 a.m.: An officer found a disabled motor vehicle parked in a driveway on Main Street. The officer was unable to find the operator at the time. Later the operator was found, they ran out of gas and had assistance.

12:47 a.m.: An officer checked several motor vehicles on Hayden Rowe Street. They were all secure.

2:24 a.m.: While checking the Woodville area of town an officer found a car with the interior light on.

9:35 a.m.: A caller found a dog in her backyard. The owner was identified through the dog’s tags and notified.

9:53 a.m.: A woman called and reported that an unknown man had followed her to her vehicle and tried to box her in. The man fled the scene.

10:42 a.m.: An officer removed a tree limb from the roadway on West Main Street.

10:57 a.m.: A wire was reported down on Hayden Rowe Street. NStar was notified.

11:25 a.m.: The received several 911 calls about a snapped telephone pole on School Street. NStar was notified.

11:34 a.m.: The police department received numerous 911 calls about trees and wires down on South Mill Street. NStar and the DPW were notified.

11:58 a.m.: a large tree limb was hanging over the wires on Winter Street. NStar was notified.

3:33 p.m.: An officer assisted a motorist that was driving to a repair shop slowly on a flat tire.

3:40 p.m.: A caller from Pond Street reported that a tree had snapped and was leaning on the wires. NStar was notified.

7:23 p.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle on Hayward Street.

8:53 p.m.: An officer checked a motor vehicle. The operator was not the registered owner. All was OK.

10:39 p.m.: A caller from Downey Street reported what appeared to be camera flashes coming from her kitchen while nobody was home. Officers responded and checked the area but did not find anything suspicious.

10:58 p.m.: A caller from Teresa Road reported that their friend’s car had been egged.

11:34 p.m.: An officer checked a car at the end of a driveway on West Main Street.

Sunday, Feb. 26

12:08 a.m.: After a motor vehicle stop Melissa S. Gildersleeve, 26, of 135 Main St., Upton was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Her passenger, Christopher M. Dolan, 19, of 301 Quequechan St., Fall River, was also arrested. Dolan had a warrant from New Bedford.

12:57 a.m.: A caller from West Main Street reported that a vehicle drive through the parking lot very slowly then went over to the . No license plate information was obtained.

1:41 a.m.: The state police called because one of their vehicles was involved in a pursuit on West Main Street.

8:42 a.m.: A caller from Chestnut Street reported that there was water in the street. An officer checked the area and observed that a water main may have broken. After a discussion with the water department it was determined that it was not a service problem but rather a natural spring causing the water.

9:03 a.m.: A caller reported that there car had broken down on Ash Street. An officer stood by until assistance arrived.

9:29 a.m.: A caller reported spray paint vandalism to their car on Lilac Circle.

1:23 p.m.: A person spoke to an officer about a suspicious incident on Ash Street.

9:37 p.m.: A person walked in to the station to report that someone threw a rock through the passenger said window of her vehicle while she was parked at the church.
