Police News: Lock Your Car Doors

Lots of dog problems on July 3.

July 3, Sunday, 9:15 a.m.

A Milford resident called to report her year-old beagle had run away. The dog had a leash attached to its collar.

10:06 a.m. - A Hopkins Road resident returned home from an out-of-town trip and found items missing from her garage. Officer O'Neil investigated.

11:36 a.m. - An Oakhurst Road caller reported the larceny of a GPS from a car.

12:40 p.m. - A walk-in at the station reported dog feces on the Town Common.

5:09 p.m. - A Spring Street caller said a car was parked in a bad spot. Officer Burchard was able to contact the owner and the vehicle will be moved.

5:20 p.m. - A Wood Street caller said several small dogs were running in and out of traffic. Officer Burchard checked but did not find the dogs. He notified the animal control officer.

5:48 p.m. - A 911 call came in from Greenwood Road but was dropped. Officers McNeil and Burchard responded and found a dispute between a homeowner and a contractor. They stood by and helped keep the situation under control.

6:21 - A Gassett Road caller reported an ongoing barking dog complaint. Officers Proctor and Burchard responded. The animal control officer will handle the complaint.

6:49 - Officer Booth came upon some bark mulch on fire on West Main Street. He notified the fire department which put the fire out.

9:59 p.m. - A caller reported a lost brown boxer dog. The animal control officer was notified.
