Hopkinton Could Join Barney Frank's District [Poll]
New congressional maps change incumbents' districts and would alter Hopkinton's representation.
Newly proposed congressional district maps place Hopkinton in the territory of U.S. Rep. Barney Frank, D-Newton.
The Special Joint Committee on Redistricting released maps this week that realign the state's congressional districts, which have shrunk from 10 to nine districts because of population shifts. Approval of the new districts awaits adoption by the full House and Senate before Nov. 16.
Should the proposal reach fruition, Hopkinton would no longer be represented by Rep. James McGovern, D-Worcester.
