UPDATE: Franklin Man Dead After Canoe Tips in Hopkinton Lake

Crews are responding to an overturned boat in Hopkinton.

Update Monday, April 20: The name of the person who died in a boat accident over the weekend was released. The Boston Globe reported that the body found was that of Nicholas Horton, 23, from Franklin. Two other people who were in the boat swam to shore to call for help, kicking off an overnight search of Lake Whitehall.

Update, 9:08 a.m.: After an overnight search where three people ended up in the water after their canoe overturned, a body has been found, reported CBS News.The body was that of a man in his 20s. The other man and woman who were in the boat made it to shore to call for help around midnight the previous evening. The name of the victim has not been released, said CBS.

Shortly after 1:06 a.m., ialerts1 reported that rescue crews responded to an overturned boat at Whitehall State Park on Wood Street in Hopkinton.

According to ialerts1, there are “people in the water.”
