Role Models Tell Middle School Girls: 'I'm Worth More'

The DA's office sponsored a confidence-building conference for middle-school aged girls.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Middlesex Partnerships for Youth announced the “Empowering Girls” conference for middle school students on Thursday, April 16.

According to the press release, the event seeks to foster confidence-building, self-assertion, and goal-setting through compelling speakers and interactive presentations. Young women will hear from positive role models who will speak to this year’s theme, “I’m Worth More.”

The conference focuses on issues such as recognizing healthy relationships, setting goals, and the power of being positive.

The conference, held at Nashoba Valley Technical High School, is for female middle school students. A cross section of backgrounds and career paths discuss their experiences and lead discussions on achieving healthy relationships, setting goals, positive thinking, and the dangers of substance abuse.

Students from Cambridge, Dracut, Hopkinton, Wakefield, Westford, Weston and Wilmington attended.
