See Hopkinton High School 2011 Honors Art Exhibit This Weekend

It's free and open to the public Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hopkinton Cultural Arts Alliance, 98 Hayden Rowe St.

Hopkinton's Cultural Arts Alliance featured the opening of the Hopkinton High School Honors Art Exhibit on the evening of Thursday, March 24, 2011.

Student artists, parents, faculty and guests celebrated the work of  seven talented high school seniors in the newly renovated exhibit space, which is part of the developing Hopkinton Center for the Arts.

The annual Honors Exhibition recognizes students, selected by the entire Hopkinton High School Visual Arts Department, for their outstanding achievements in art and dedication to the visual arts.

This year's featured artists are:

Chelsea Adams, Kyle Bogasky, Merideth Clark, Jennifer Curley, Amanda Hassan, Emily Mutschler and Caroline Olney.

In addition to creating the art, the students  must select, prepare, and hang works providng them with the real-world knowledge and experience of hosting a public art exhibition.

"These young artists are considered some of the strongest students currently enrolled in Hopkinton High School’s visual arts program," commented Tracie  Dunn, a Hopkinton High School art teacher who is organizing the event this year. "In fact, they each received recognition in this year’s Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards."

The exhibit is free and open to the public Saturday, March 26, and Sunday, March 27, from 2 to 4 p.m.
