SLIDESHOW: Congresswoman Clark Joins 'Walk to Break the Silence' in Framingham

Congresswoman Katherine Clark, who represents Holliston, addressed hundreds of participants gathered for the Walk to Break the Silence in downtown Framingham over the weekend.

The Walk to Break the Silence is an annual event to raise awareness and funds to benefit the work of Voices Against Violence, a program at the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) that serves the greater MetroWest area including Framingham, Natick, Ashland, Holliston, and surrounding communities.

Voices Against Violence is dedicated to ending sexual and domestic violence and to empowering victims and survivors to help themselves and their children.

Rep. Clark thanked the many students, families and volunteers in attendance.

“Thank you for lending your voices and your footsteps to what is too often a silent epidemic in America,” said Clark. “To end domestic violence in our communities we need you all, organizations like Voices Against Violence, and most importantly, the continued leadership of survivors and family members who have bravely come forward to share their own stories. We stand with you, and today we walk with you.”
