SLIDESHOW: Russian School of Mathematics Celebrates 10th Anniversary
To celebrate the event, the RSM-MetroWest held a Mathapalooza on the Framingham Centre Common Saturday afternoon.

In 2003, the Russian School of Mathematics (RSM-MetroWest) opening.
Today, the school provides a world-class math education with an emphasis on problem solving skills and critical thinking for 800 students from more than 40 communities in the MetroWest area, including Framingham, Westborough, Natick, Southborough, Sudbury, Hopkinton, Marlborough, Ashland, and Wayland.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Russian School of Mathematics of MetroWest held a Mathapalooza on the Framingham Center Common Saturday afternoon. More than 750 families attended the four-hour event.
The event featured over-sized versions of games like chess, checkers, Connect Four and Jenga.

Elementary and middle school age students also participated in mathematically-inspired games and puzzles created especially for Mathapalooza, including a Pin the Mustache on Albert Einstein and a Magic Potion Formulation.
Also in attendance was a “Math Magician,” who performed mathematically-based illusions.
Many of the staff and volunteers were dressed in costumes.
State Rep. Chris Walsh also read and presented a proclamation to the school yesterday, Sept. 13.
