Sophomore Sprinter Tears Up The Track
Ranked in the top five in the state, Jessica Scott looks forward to a strong finish at the Tri-Valley League championships.

Hopkinton Patch: How is the indoor track season going so far?
Jessica Scott: So far, the team has won all of our meets. I am doing very well in the dash and have qualified for TVL's. We have one more meet to go. [Wednesday, Feb. 1 vs. Westwood High]

Patch: When did you become interested in track?
Scott: I started participating in track in 9th grade. Before that I did gymnastics, softball and was on the swim team. I alway's enjoyed running over the years so I thought I would give it a try.
Patch: Who has influenced you the most in your running?
Scott: I would have to say that my parents and my coach have been most influential. My parents encourage me and come to all of my meets. My coach helps me to work hard to get better. My coach has helped me with weight training.
Patch: Do you ever get nervous before a meet?
Scott: I do get a little nervous before a meet because track is really competitive. I usually listen to music on the way to a meet and it relaxes me.
Patch: What is your most memorable moment?
Scott: I would say that when I achieved my personal best (26 seconds in the 200m). in May this past season.
Patch: What are your goals this season?
Scott: I would like to better my time and for our team to win at TVL's.
Patch: Do you have any advice for younger student runners?
Scott: Keep working out and stay physically fit to improve your time. Try hard at practice and listen to your coach.
Patch: What are your other interests besides sports?
Scott: I enjoy being outdoors.
