Tee Off for Education: MetroWest Chamber's Annual Golf Tourney Benefits Education Foundation

The annual tournament is the biggest fundraiser for the chamber's Education Foundation, giving scholarships to students from 23 towns.

METROWEST MASSACHUSETTS—The 10th Annual MetroWest Educational Foundation Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2016 at Charter Oak Country Club in Hudson.

The event is the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce's major fundraiser each year for the MetroWest Chamber Educational Foundation.

Annually, the MetroWest Educational Foundation awards both STEM and Arcadius, Emma & Robert Lemieux Scholarship scholarships to students in the MetroWest Chamber’s member towns.Those communities include: Ashland, Bellingham, Dover, Framingham, Franklin, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Hudson, Marlborough, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Milford, Natick, Northborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland, Wellesley, Weston and Westborough, said the announcement.

Last year, the chamber two additional scholarships to the event: The Walter M. Kelleher Memorial Scholarship, for a student wishing to pursue early childhood education and the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation Scholarship for a student with autism or an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. The MW Educational Foundation earmarked $1,000 to each of those scholarships.
