Limited area spraying by resident request will continue in the CMMCP service area into the month of August. Spraying for WNV and EEE viruses may be planned at any time if weather conditions permit and state and local official agree this is an appropriate response.
Information on the CMMCP's surveillance program is available on its website, which is updated weekly. If WNV or EEE is identified in the service area, the CMMCP will be in contact with affected towns to discuss any possible intervention strategies.
The CMMCP is asking that residents spread the message of personal protection from mosquitoes by using avoidance techniques and repellents. Residents should also empty water-holding containers on a weekly basis.
