Our weekly roundup recaps five of the most important stories of the past seven days.

1. You can turn over a new leaf with your tongue in your cheek. Just ask About Town Columnist John Shannahan, whose column about generated a slew of comments here on Patch and around town.

2. Defending a title is hard work. The Super Bowl Champion Holliston Panthers got back to work this week and Coach Todd Kiley wasted no time. With two titles under its belt, the team will no doubt have a target on its back

3. Solar power may be green, but it can still . More than two dozen people turned out Tuesday night for a Conservation Commission hearing on a proposal to erect a 2.5 megawatt solar-power generating station on land owned by the Bullard Memorial Farm Association. Pointed questions were asked and the applicants will be expected to present more information to the Commission before the project can get a greenlight.

4. The hard-working teachers in Holliston’s schools don’t have to worry about negotiating a contract for another three years. The town’s teachers union and the School Committee , with teachers getting raises in each of the years as well as the right to job-share with the superintendent’s approval.

5. Planet Aid is caught in a back-taxes conundrum thanks to its landlord. The organization wants to improve its Cross Street facilties, but can’t get a building permit until owners Axton Cross get current on taxes. That company, and is still responsible for a $1.1 million enviromental cleanup on the property as well.
