I am back at this cute little cottage at Cape. I am usually the type of person who wants to explore a new place every time. This time as I was driving back on the same back roads after exactly a year, I started feeling this palpable excitement and with it there was a sense of comfort that comes only with familiarity. There was no tension or questions in my mind about what this place will be like and if kids will have a good time. We settled right in in our two little bedrooms after putting all the groceries away.
The best part was the morning when I woke up and walked to the beach. I had spend one week last year on this beach and brought my yoga mat there every morning before kids woke up. Today as I reached there early in the morning and placed my Yoga mat on the sand, there was a rush of feelings-- happiness, joy, contentment, gratitude and a sense of exhilaration. I stood there speechless for a few moments breathing in the fresh, salty air into my lungs. I did my Surya Namaskar bowing to the divine sun and as I came into the Warrior pose and looked up at the expansive blue sky with white clouds, it opened up my heart. As I greeted the sky with OM, it greeted me right back. This was a kind of feeling that you want to bottle in for those blue, dreary days. If you have never done yoga at the beach, do try. All the elements come together in a majestic way, nature at its best: Earth, Water, Air, Fire of the Sun and Space. Where else will you find them dancing together in harmony. This harmony transcends into your being with feelings of joy, peace and contentment as you bow to the divine in the universe and to the divine within yourself and dissolve into childs pose.
